Jeff Berrong

Moderator, Insurance Commissioner Candidate Forum

Jeff Berrong is a third-generation co-owner of his family’s independent insurance agency, Ed Berrong Insurance Agency, Inc., which has been in business since 1948 and now has locations in Weatherford and Edmond.  In addition to being very involved in the Weatherford community, Jeff has enjoyed a lifelong interest in public policy, government, history, and politics.  He currently serves as board chair of the Oklahoma Policy Institute and also frequently guest hosts Flash Point on KFOR Channel 4.  Jeff has previously moderated numerous candidate forums and roundtable discussions and is honored to be part of the BIGiOK’s first ever Insurance Commissioner candidate forum.

Bob Sullivan

OID Commissioner Candidate

Bob Sullivan is a fourth-generation Oklahoman, husband, and dad who has spent the last two decades protecting Oklahoma families and small businesses as a property and casualty insurance professional. He’s a fighter, not a career politician—known for helping clients navigate complex coverage issues and standing up to “big insurance” when it matters most. Bob is active in his community as an Eagle Scout and former president of the Rotary Club of Southside Tulsa, and he has served in leadership roles with Youth Services of Tulsa, Youth at Heart, Clubhouse Tulsa, and MODUS. He is also a member and leader at Calvary Baptist Church in Inola.

Bob’s professional credentials include CIC, CRM, CPCU, Associate in Fidelity & Surety Bonding, and Certified Environmental Specialist. He works with Alera Group in Tulsa and previously served at Rich & Cartmill (2010–2022). Bob and his wife, Jennifer, are proud parents to Sulley and Linley—and dog parents to their adopted pup, Sammy.

Chris Merideth

OID Commissioner Candidate

Chris Merideth has spent almost twenty-five years in the insurance industry, working alongside agents, legislators, and community leaders to modernize insurance and make it work for families in Oklahoma and across the country. As Government Affairs Manager for Farmers Insurance, he’s helped shape reforms and championed stronger building standards like the FORTIFIED Homes program. Chris brings a vast national perspective on how other states are tackling the risk crisis and wants to apply best practices in Oklahoma. Chris is running for Insurance Commissioner because he believes the answer to the crisis we’re facing isn’t in the past — it’s going to take new thinking, new leadership, and collaboration across the state to lower rates by reducing costs, risks and restore trust in our system.

Marty Quinn

OID Commissioner Candidate

Marty Quinn is a small business owner, insurance professional, Oklahoma state legislator (2010-2022)  and long-time conservative leader with a passion for protecting the people of Oklahoma.  He has over 4 decades of industry experience, from local agent and manager to agency owner.  His legislative experience brings one of the most conservative and pro-taxpayer voting records in Oklahoma and has been an advocate for small businesses, families, and Oklahoma communities.  During his tenure, he served as Asst Majority Leader and Chairman of Insurance & Retirement Committee.  Marty will be a strong voice for taxpayers and businesses – striking the right balance between regulating the industry and enabling companies to thrive, while ensuring consumers benefit from a competitive market, fair coverage and the timely honoring of their claims.  He will stand up for fairness, accountability and opportunity.  As proud parents of 2 grown children, Lynsay and Tyler, Marty and his wife Kelley have shared more than 40 wonderful years together.  A former deacon and teacher at Blue Starr Church of Christ, Marty brings the same Christian values of integrity, compassion and humility that have guided him throughout his life to his service for the people of Oklahoma as Insurance Commissioner.

Greta Shuler

OID Commissioner Candidate

With over a decade of experience in the insurance industry, Greta became known for a client first approach and a commitment to excellence.  Greta consistently ranked as a top agent among 2800 agencies throughout the US, Canada and Puerto Rico, until she moved into management where she also ranked as a top sales manager for years, earning  recognition for exceptional sales and service. Since beginning her career, Greta specialized in helping hard working Oklahoma families cover what matters most. After earning numerous awards in insurance, including the Million Dollar Club and President’s Club, Greta made the tough decision to leave her demanding sales career and grow a small business to make more time for her young family. She successfully operated businesses for over eight years until a tornado destroyed her livelihood and everything she spent many years building in April 2023. While rebuilding the destroyed business, Greta delved back into insurance to help an agency owner friend. As a city councilwoman for the City of Shawnee, Greta voted to pass a municipal bond for her Alma Mater, Oklahoma Baptist University, to help rebuild after their loss sustained from the same tornado that destroyed her primary business. Meetings with OBU revealed they had been without insurance for months after the torndao due to the carrier not being able to acquire reinsurance—something Greta, as Insurance Commissioner, felt she could have helped solve. A few months later when her district caught on fire, the experience of evacuating people from their homes that day in March of 2025 made Greta realize Oklahomans need an insurance commissioner who is boots-on-the-ground and experienced in loss firsthand. Shortly after this myriad of lifechanging events, Greta decided to pursue her goal from young agenthood to run for State Insurance Commissioner.
