October 19, 2026

This week’s Monday Morning with Denise highlights several timely BIGiOK member opportunities, including The Institutes’ Oct. 22 webinar on the changing employment risk landscape, an InsurBanc session on internal perpetuation, and Catalyit’s upcoming GetLYIT technology conference featuring AI tools and other agency-focused tech resources. Denise and Jerry also remind members about the Young Agents community service project at Free to Live Animal Sanctuary and encourage everyone to take advantage of the education, technology and member benefits available through BIGiOK. With no featured guest this week, the episode keeps the focus on practical resources for agency operations, workforce issues, perpetuation planning, technology and community involvement, while closing on a light, conversational note about rescue pets and staying engaged throughout a busy October.

0:04 – 0:21

Good morning to ya, hey. It’s really great to see ya. Hello. Well, good Monday morning, October 19, 2026. That means it’s past the middle of October.

0:21 – 0:26

It does. That’s what that already means.

0:26 – 0:30

And it is getting cooler. I mean, yeah. I know it’s been.

0:31 – 0:55

Don’t you think in Oklahoma, I can remember early in October it would start getting chilly, but now it’s pretty normal for it to be later in the month. What was it? Three or four years ago when Christmas was 75? Oh, yeah. But I do have pictures from when I was a child of standing outside in the driveway on Christmas, wearing just a shirt.

0:55 – 0:59

Maybe this is just ringing a bell. I don’t know.

1:00 – 1:04

Well, how’d your weekend go? It was good. Yeah.

1:05 – 1:07

It was really good. Relaxing.

1:07 – 1:13

Chilling out. Fall-break-ish a little bit. I know a lot of people don’t go out of town for fall break because we don’t have kids.

1:14 – 1:20

Spring break, fall break. What’s that? We never had that. That’s bizarre to me.

1:20 – 1:24

No. I think they get tired of going to school, I guess. So, we won’t go down that road.

1:25 – 1:30

Okay. Well, we’re still busy this week. In October, we do a lot.

1:31 – 1:53

On October 22, The Institutes are having a webinar on the new employment risk landscape, including EPLI, wage and hour issues, and workforce changes. Last week, we talked to Nikki Henley, who serves on our board. She discussed some of the different ways she handles staffing and manages her office.

1:53 – 2:05

This would be an incredibly good webinar to attend. It’s especially great because these webinars are free as part of our education program, which Nikki also mentioned.

2:05 – 2:09

That’s right. They’re free only if you’re a BIGiOK member. That’s a good point.

2:10 – 2:20

Also on October 22, InsurBanc is hosting a webinar on internal perpetuation. This is huge and something we don’t talk about enough.

2:21 – 2:37

People don’t ask great questions about it because they think they have it figured out, but it’s complicated. You need contracts, even within a family. This is really what InsurBanc specializes in.

2:37 – 2:41

We love our families. We should, absolutely.

2:42 – 2:46

It’s good for a healthy family. It’s really true. I would encourage everyone to take part.

2:46 – 3:07

I can’t say enough good things about it. InsurBanc knows this area well. Next week, BIGiOK members also get free access to all parts of Catalyit.

3:07 – 3:15

I was trying to think of products, but they’re not really products. That’s a huge value. They’re having their annual tech conference.

3:16 – 3:18

Catalyit. I know. They help you out there.

3:18 – 3:31

GetLYIT. It’s focusing on AI, right? They’ll cover other things, too. Matt will be talking about specific AI tools, so it should be really good.

3:31 – 3:42

I think it’s going to be really good. We’ll have to watch the recording because we have a board meeting on October 28, so we’ll miss it live. We can watch it later because we’re BIGiOK members.

3:42 – 3:50

It’s going to be recorded, so we’ll watch it later. GetLYIT, sign up now. We’ve been sending out notices about it. 3:50 – 3:56

You do have to sign up to log in. It’s on the website and the calendar, so jump on there.

3:56 – 4:03

The Young Agents are also doing their community service project for Free to Live Animal Sanctuary.

4:04 – 4:14

I got that email the other day with the big dog. I kept wondering what it was, and then realized it was their fundraiser. It got your attention, though, didn’t it? It did.

4:14 – 4:17

I had to do a double take. It’s a cute puppy.

4:18 – 4:30

I want to find out how many Young Agents go home with puppies when it’s all said and done. Wouldn’t that be a fun statistic? It would be really fun.

4:30 – 4:35

Some of them are going to be really old and set in their ways. But I would do that.

4:36 – 4:46

We adopted our dog a year ago. She was six, and I guess she’s seven now. She wasn’t young, but she wasn’t old.

4:46 – 4:55

She’s not too set in her ways, and we’re providing her a much better home than before. I totally agree.

4:55 – 4:59

She lives the dream. We’re both advocates for adopting pets. Yes, we are.

4:59 – 5:05

We are. Well, saying all that, here we go.

5:05 – 5:10

Let’s stay busy. Everybody, take advantage of what BIGiOK offers. Have an awesome week. 5:10 – 5:16

You as well. This is a short episode, and we don’t have a guest this time, but keep an eye out. We’ll have more guests later.

5:16 – 5:18

We will. Have a great week.

5:18 – 5:20

All right, you too. Bye-bye. Bye.
