Denise Johnson, CIC
President/Chief Executive Officer
Denise Johnson got her start in the industry back in 1996 when she joined her family's agency in Piedmont, Oklahoma. As a second-generation insurance agent, Denise was able to serve the industry on a local, regional and national level. She joined the Big I OK Board of Directors in 2006, and took over as Chairman in 2010. Denise joined the association as President/CEO in 2014 and has spent the last four years striving to uphold the mission statement on a daily basis. Denise graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a bachelor's degree and holds both the CIC and CISR designations. She loves to pass her time in yoga classes, listening to audiobooks and traveling with her husband, John, to historic cities. Denise has three daughters, two of whom are married, and two granddaughters.
Chief of Staff & Operations
Josh Reasnor, chief of staff and operations, has been at Big I OK since June of 2019 after having previously worked as an analyst at a local charity for children and many years within the medical industry as a trainer and project manager. Josh enjoys all facets of the insurance industry so far and is amazed at how deep and wide the industry's reach is. Josh believes working for the Association has been an extraordinary learning experience and especially enjoys working with Big I OK members and the exceptional team at Big I OK headquarters. Outside of his career, Josh spends his spare time with his wife and two daughters.
Workers' Compensation Service Account Manager
Kortney began her insurance career diving into Workers' Comp in 2015. After four years of underwriting, she changed directions to work with Big I OK as the Education Coordinator and Member Engagement and Operations Director for one year before switching gears to serve as Eagle Agency's Workers' Compensation Service Account Manager. In prior years, Kortney worked heavily in Tribal AP Accounting. Kortney moved to Colorado in the summer of 2020 to live her dream hiking in the mountains with her husband and two dogs. Kortney loves meeting with people, serving them to the best of her abilities and caring for the community.
Workers' Comp Program Account Manager
Susan Starr started at Big I OK in January of 2016 handling the Workers' Compensation program. Susan's career spans many industries, having spent time working for American Airlines, Oklahoma Christian University and the Oklahoma City Indian Clinic. With a bachelor's degree in Project Management under her belt obtained in 2003 from OCU, she is currently working toward her CISR designation. Susan loves spending time with her tribe, and can be found attending volleyball practices for her daughter, Emma or with her D group at church. Susan also enjoys gardening, game nights and spending time with family.
Director of Sales, Events & New Membership
Shania Slavick joined the Big I OK team in January of 2018 as an "Events Intern". Since then, she has worked part-time during college and has now officially accepted a full time position at Big I Oklahoma! She graduated in May of 2020 with a bachelor's degree in Marketing with an emphasis in Professional Sales and a minor in Leadership from the University of Central Oklahoma. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, hanging out with friends and shopping.
Director of Marketing and Communications
Courtney Bloom is the most recent employee at Big I OK, having started in December of 2019. Courtney is a proud Oklahoma State University alumna who graduated with a bachelor's degree in strategic communications in December of 2016. (Go Pokes!) She previously served as the Director of Marketing and Public Relations at a rural water association and looks forward to applying that experience at Big I OK. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and dogs.
Cindy Munden, CISR
Specialty Lines Program Account Manager
Cindy Munden celebrated her 22nd anniversary with Big I OK in May of 2020. She worked as a clerk typist at USF&G before joining our staff to handle the Farm & Ranch and Personal Umbrella programs. Cindy holds a CISR designation. When she isn't working, you can find Cindy in Mexico on vacation, in her pool, at the lake or just about anywhere there's sunshine and warm weather. Cindy has been married to her high school sweetheart, Richey, for over 20 awesome years and they have four fur babies: one dog and three cats.
Lily Pierce joined Big I Oklahoma at the beginning of 2020 as the part-time administrative assistant. Lily received her General Business Associate in Applied Science degree from Rose State College in December 2019, and is now pursuing a bachelor's degree in HR Management at the University of Central Oklahoma. On the weekends, Lily enjoys hanging out with friends and playing sand volleyball and spikeball with her church group!
Workers' Compensation Customer Service Agent
Jeanette Madrid joined the Big I OK team in June 2020 as the Workers Comp Customer Service Agent. She has been a licensed Agent for two years. Jeanette has two children and they keep her very busy. She's originally from Colorado and loves to explore the mountains whenever possible. She is excited to bring her experience to the Big I OK team. In her spare time she enjoys gardening, cooking and traveling.
Continuing Education and Professional Development Coordinator
Kacee Schier joined
the Big I OK team in June of 2020 as the Education Coordinator. Kacee came to
us from a position in guest experience and event planning. She obtained a
degree in marketing and certificate in promotions management from East Central
University (Once a Tiger…). Kacee is excited to serve the members of Big I
Oklahoma in this role. When not at work, you can find her attending live
sporting events and concerts, traveling, and spending time with her family,
friends and sweet kitten.
